Antiradical Bituminous Membrane

BASEMENT WALLS WATERPROOFING WITH ANTIROOT BITUMINOUS MEMBRANE

1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The surface of the basement walls should be sound, clean and free of loose pieces. Cut any wood formwork rests 3 cm deep and repair them with DOMOREPAIR R3 repair mortar. Do the same for any holes or cavities of the concrete substrate. Open the construction joints 3 cm deep in a V-shape and fill them with DOMOREPAIR R3 repair mortar. Where the vertical wall meets the floor, create a leveling joint using DOMOREPAIR R4 repair mortar or a cement mortar reinforced with the high strength bonding latex DOMORESIN SP.

2. PRIMERING

α
Apply the bituminous solvent based SOPRADERE on the level surface as a primer (drying time: 4-8 h). Alternatively you may apply also the elastomeric bituminous water based AQUADERE varnish (drying time: 30-60 min).

CONNSUMPTION: 250gr/m²

3. WATERPROOFING LAYER APPLICATION

β
Once the primer has dried, apply SOPRALENE FLAM JARDIN anti-root elastomeric bituminous membrane by welding on the primered substrate overlapping each sheet by 6 cm. Seal the joints with a spatula or trowel. The membrane is applied 15cm above the ground and 15cm down to the foundation beams. Prior to that, reinforce the joints of the walls with the beams with a 25 cm wide corner reinforcement strip from an elastomeric bituminous membrane with PE-sheet covering.
Seal the upper side of the membranes with ALSAN FLASHING bituminous polyurethane

4. PROTECTION

g
Place PROTECDRAIN drainage panels to protect the waterproofing layer from the oncoming soil filling and also in order to act as drainage layer. The PROTECTDRAIN panels are fixed mechanically above the sealing point of the waterproofing with a metal fixing profile. It is recommended to fill the soil gradually in order to minimize the stress on the waterproofing system.

The above waterproofing system is certified by CSTB and is described on the drawing below:

3) PROTECDRAIN

4) Fixing profile PROTECDRAIN

5) Soil
